I am a California Native whose path led me to the sea early on in life while I was growing up on the coast of the Golden State. My love of the ocean and all of its treasures has only grown for me over the years, and has guided me in many of the decisions that I have made in life. Moving from north to south, coast to coast and east to west across the seas, my life so far has been an adventure on, around, and in the ocean.

In 2002 I bought a small sailboat dedicated myself to creating a voyaging craft that could carry me across an ocean. That dream became a reality for me in 2006 when I sailed from Mexico to Hawaii, after a long string of adventures that were born out of that original dream of voyaging by sail.

I eventually found myself settling on the Big Island of Hawaii, where I now reside. My travels also led me to a desire to give back to the sea that has given me so much. After a ten-year career of dabbling in research, recreation and work on the ocean, I now work on the leading edge of sustainable open-ocean aquaculture, with the goal of helping to preserve the ocean that we know today, for the generations of tomorrow. Yes, I have a day job.

I have had a camera by my side through many of these adventures, and what started out as a means of documentation has grown and morphed into something more, a means of expression and communication.
